Welcome to Northwest Construction’s Top Project List. To qualify, projects must be currently under construction, and over $25 million. Many privately owned projects aren’t listed, because of confidentially agreements the contractors and consultants have with the owner. Microsoft and Boeing are two examples. While construction starts may be slipping in the rest of the country, the Northwest remains a bright spot. Seattle area housing prices increased 2 percent last month, and other areas are holding steady, despite the downturn in the rest of the country. The credit crunch is starting to affect the condo market, and some projects are being converted to apartments. Healthcare projects are plentiful this year, as hospitals continue expansion projects. The aging population and need to keep up with technology and digital advances in record keeping and communication are key components to every project.
