Planning, architecture, and interior design firm Emick Howard
& Seibert Inc. of Seattle announced the addition of Mia
Marshall to its team. Marshall will work on a variety
of financial, retail, and corporate projects.
Marshall brings a wide variety of experience that includes
corporate interior architecture, tenant improvements, programming,
space planning, budget management, scheduling, furniture/finish
selections and specifications, construction documentation
drawings and construction administration. She has worked with
clients such as Microsoft Corporation, Equity Office Properties,
Benaroya Capital Co., Unico Properties, City University, University
of Washington and AT&T.

Skanska USA Building Inc. of Seattle recently named Kevin
Brettmann project executive, overseeing construction
management services at Amgen Inc.'s research and development
center in Seattle.
In his current role, Brettmann oversees the construction
of complex BSL 3 labs and other research and development areas
at Amgen that include human and molecular immunology, bio
analytics and DNA sequencing, as well as other progressive
technologies.
Brettmann has more than 20 years of experience in the construction
industry, having managed conceptual; schematic and design
development estimating; scheduling; analysis and budgeting
for other prominent biopharmaceutical projects.

Megan White, a water quality
expert at the Washington State's Department of Ecology, was
recently named the new director of Environmental Services
for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
White, a civil engineer, has served 18 years with the Washington
State Department of Ecology, including nine years at the executive
management level. In recent years, she has managed Ecology's
Water Quality Program to improve the state's water quality,
including upgrading the state's water quality standards that
define clean water. White is a graduate of Humboldt and Utah
State universities and has been recognized with the Governor's
Distinguished Manager Award.

Aloha, Ore. general contractor In Line Commercial Construction
Inc. recently promoted Jeff Stanton
from senior project manager to vice-president and Mike
Barnett from project manager to senior project manager.
Stanton joined the In Line team 13 years ago as a superintendent
and has supplemented his field knowledge with project management
programs. As vice-president, Stanton manages some of In Line's
most complicated projects and supports the development of
business.
Barnett began his construction career in Colorado after graduating
from the University of Colorado with a degree in Organizations
Management. He went on to increasing levels of responsibility
as an estimator and project manager working for design-build
engineering and construction firms in Colorado and Arizona.
Barnett joined In Line in 2000.
Both Stanton and Barnett are currently managing projects
for Providence Health System, among others. Barnett recently
completed the Providence St. Vincent Medical Nursing Unit
Phase III project, which involved refurbishing the west wing
patient rooms. One of Stanton's current larger projects is
at Providence Tigard Data Center, converting 5,400 sq. ft.
of the area into another computer room.

Core Design Inc., a Bellevue, Wash. planning/civil engineering/surveying
firm, recently announced that Kenneth
W. Shipley has become a Professional Land Surveyor.
Shipley is currently working on several condominium and platting
projects including Crofton Springs and Divisions 84-85 in
Issaquah Highlands. He specializes in condominiums, platting,
right-of-way determinations, control surveys, boundary line
adjustments, binding site plans and records of survey, as
well as boundary and topographic surveys.

Bellevue, Wash.'s MulvannyG2 Architecture recently named
Brian Fleener, manager of the
Portland office, as partner and vice-president. Other corporate
promotions include Ron Maddox
as executive vice-president and Barbara
Peters and Ming Zhang
as senior vice-presidents.
For the past three years, Fleener has served as the principal-in-charge
of operations for the MulvannyG2 Portland office. As vice-president,
he is now responsible for the overall management of the Portland
office. He has extensive retail experience and works closely
with clients such as Target, NIKE, Fred Meyer, Best Buy, Safeway,
and WinCo Foods.
As executive vice-president and member of the board of directors,
Maddox manages the Costco Wholesale account from MulvannyG2's
Bellevue headquarters, overseeing its international design
and construction operations.
As the firm's chief financial officer, member of the board
of directors, and senior vice-president, Peters is responsible
for the financial management of the firm and oversees the
finance and accounting department. She joined the firm in
1990 and has more than 26 years of financial experience.
Zhang - partner, senior vice-president, and the firm's lead
designer - is also on the board of directors. With more than
19 years of design experience, he has won numerous international
design awards and competitions. In addition, he oversees MulvannyG2's
design quality and the firm's recently opened Shanghai office.

Portland, Ore.-based Giffin Bolte Jurgens Architects has
named David Pugh, Jr. as a principal
of the firm.
Pugh joined the firm in April 1999 and was promoted to associate
in May of 2000.
With more than 24 years of design and management experience,
Pugh's portfolio includes health-related projects as far reaching
as Maryland and Washington, D.C. In the Pacific Northwest,
his past work has included projects at Providence Hood River
Memorial Hospital, Salem Hospital, and Tacoma General Hospital.
Previous to joining Giffin Bolte Jurgens, Pugh worked for
an architectural firm in Houston, Texas, and for several firms
in Washington, D.C. Pugh is currently working on construction
administration of a $75 million, four-story, expansion at
MultiCare Medical Center, Tacoma, Wash.
In addition to his specific project responsibilities, Pugh
will increase his role in the firm's business development,
management and mentoring activities.

Bellevue, Wash. homebuilder Quadrant Corp. has promoted Natalie
Fischer to broker outreach manager.
In her new position, Fischer will assist in managing Quadrant's
Preferred Agent Program with Windermere Builder Services Group
for Quadrant's eight communities, which include the planned
communities of Snoqualmie Ridge, Redmond Ridge and Northwest
Landing.
Fischer will serve as a liaison to outside residential real
estate agents for the company, as well as assist Quadrant's
on-site community sales managers in the generation of agent
traffic to its communities. Additionally, Fischer is responsible
for managing Quadrant's military base outreach program in
the south Puget Sound area.

Steve Blair has rejoined Seattle
electrical design and construction company SME Inc. in the
role of service manager. He brings more than 18 years of electrical
industry experience to his position, including six years managing
his own company.
Blair comes to SME to expand the service division to include
multi-family residential clients and residential services,
as well as support current commercial and industrial clients.
An active community leader, Blair coaches youth baseball and
serves as a director for a youth church program in Covington,
Wash.

Northwest Mechanical Engineering Inc. of Spokane, Wash.,
recently opened its new mechanical engineering office, headed
by Chuck Estey, Michael
Hubbard and Dave Arthur.
The three principals previously worked together for another
mechanical engineering firm and collectively have more than
43 years of engineering experience.
Estey has more than 15 years of experience and is currently
serving as the senior engineer for several educational projects
in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Wyoming. With nine years
of industrial and commercial engineering experience, Hubbard
is currently the project engineer for several educational
projects in Idaho and assisted living facilities in Idaho
and Montana. Arthur brings more than 18 years of experience
in plumbing and fire protection to the firm and is the company's
lead plumbing designer.
