Sparling recently announced that it has named Eric
Overton president and Arne Berger
vice president and CFO.
Overton joined the firm in 1985. He was named principal
in 1994, vice president in 1997 and chief operating officer
in 2002. As president, Overton is responsible for business
development, client satisfaction and overall operations of
the firm. Overton recently completed planning and hiring staff
to open Sparling's new office in Portland. Overton also serves
on the executive board of the AIA Academy of Architecture
for Health, WA/OR chapter and the board of directors for Junior
Achievement of Greater Puget Sound.
Berger joined the firm in 1990 to manage design of health
care projects in Washington, Alaska and California. He was
named principal and business manager in 1997 and appointed
to the board of directors in 2003. Berger is the executive
in charge of the firm's accounting, internal technology, information
systems and administrative departments. He recently completed
the leasing and tenant improvements for the Portland office.
Jim Duncan, chairman and CEO,
Tom Leonidas, Jr., vice president
and outside director Julie Benezet,
principal business Growth Consulting, were also re-elected
to Sparling's board of directors.
The firm also announced that two staff recently earned their
professional engineering license. Jeff
Hankin is principal of an electrical design studio
that specializes in retail, health care, hospitality and mixed
use projects. Hankin has over 14 years experience providing
electrical engineering for local and national clients. Project
designer Brett Hanson is a member
of Hankin's studio and currently chairs the IAS (Industry
Applications Society) Seattle chapter.
Tom R. Deines, a project engineer
with Wildish Construction, Eugene, has become a director and
member of the board of the Construction Specifications Institute
(CSI). As a director Deines helps lead a 16,500-member national
association of specifiers, architects, engineers, contractors,
suppliers, building owners and others involved in nonresidential
construction.
Deines is a project engineer for civil and heavy construction
projects for Wildish Standard Paving Co. in Eugene. He joined
CSI in 1993 and is a member of the organization's Willamette
Valley chapter.
Previous national CSI leadership positions Deines has held
include being a member of CSI's Technical Committee. He also
was an author of the Construction Module of the new edition
of CSI's Project Resource Manual-Manual of Practice. It is
the construction industry's authoritative reference for developing
and using construction documents.
Deines also has chaired the CSI Northwest Region's Technical
Committee and the region's Planning Committee.
Evan Christenson and Molly
Mahan have been promoted from project engineers to
project managers at W.G. Clark. Both originally were hired
as interns while attending the University of Washington. Colt
Fry has been added to the staff as a project engineer.
Christenson has been with the firm since 1998. He has worked
on a variety of projects, including both renovations and new
construction. His most recent project was a $2.4 million renovation
at Valley Medical Center, and his experience includes work
for commercial, institutional and non-profit clients.
Mahan joined W.G. Clark in 1999. Her projects have included
mixed-use residential, commercial, and institutional work,
including the Kent Pullen Regional Communications and Em CLC
Associates, a 115-person engineering, architectural, planning,
landscape architectural and surveying firm, has added four
new staff members to serve the firm's increasing workload.
The four new staff members are Michael
E. Moore, Professional Land Surveyor; Mark
Papich, EIT and project engineer; Daniel
D. Cowger, EIT and project engineer; and Lindsay
Ray, EIT and design engineer.
Moore is a licensed land surveyor in Washingon. He brings
31 years of experience in all phases of land surveying to
the firm.
Papich has been hired to provide design services for commercial
projects.
As a new addition to CLC Associates, Cowger is involved in
engineering for the firm's residential projects. Lindsay Ray
has been working with CLC Associates since 2002 as an intern
and recently joined the firm in a full-time capacity.
HGE, Inc. of Coos Bay, Ore. announces the addition of Gregory
L. Pride, PE as the firm's electrical Engineer. He
recently passed the state board exam. HGE is an employee-owned
firm specializing in municipal projects for small and medium
sized Oregon communities.
Lease Crutcher Lewis, Seattle, has hired two project managers
and has promoted a project manger to senior project manager.
Dave Petersen has been promoted
to senior project manager in the Tacoma ofrfice. He has been
in construction since 1988. Paula Sword,
a 17-year construction profession is now a project manager
in the special projects divison. Rick
Workman has joined Lewis as a project manger in the
special projects division.
Quadrant Homes, the state's largest homebuilder, announced
the promotions of Lindsay Waymire to merchandising manager,
Amy Kennedy to New Home Showroom manager and BreAnn
Kraetsch to sales operations manager. In addition,
the company has hired Jennifer Peroyea
as budget administrator.
