Hunt Wildish could only work from the outside of the stadium, because the playing surface had to be protected. This necessitated the use of two tower cranes with off-set heights. The cranes allowed crews to construct four towers that support the new addition to be constructed concurrently.

Because of the wet Oregon climate, a strict quality control program was instituted for waterproofing and moisture protection.
